SASSA pays the November 2026 Older Persons Grant early, on Friday 30 October 2026. Disability Grants follow on Monday 2 November and children’s grants on Tuesday 3 November. The schedule changed because of the Local Government Elections on 4 November (SAnews).

Why did SASSA change the November dates?
South Africa votes in the Local Government Elections on Wednesday 4 November 2026, which is a public holiday. SASSA moved the payments so that they do not clash with voting day. It says the new schedule followed consultation with stakeholders and aims for secure payments with as little disruption as possible.
How much are SASSA grants in November 2026?
The amounts below are the 2026/27 values announced in the 2026 Budget Speech. The Foster Child Grant went up by R10 in October 2026.
| Grant | Monthly amount |

When is the SRD R370 grant paid in November?
SASSA pays the SRD grant on individual dates, not on the schedule above. Check your own payment date and status on the official SRD website, or read our guide to the SASSA status check. The SRD grant stays at R370 a month and now runs until 31 March 2027.
What if your grant is under review?
SASSA has set aside Thursday 5 November for beneficiaries whose grants are under review. It asks people to respond to official communication and to go to review appointments when they are asked to.
How to collect your grant safely
SASSA asks beneficiaries not to visit its offices unless they need to, because it processes payments on the announced dates. A few habits help on payment day:
- Your grant stays in your account after the payment date, so you don’t have to withdraw it on the first day, when queues are longest.
- Never share your PIN or one-time passwords, and don’t accept help from strangers at an ATM.
- Get grant news only from SASSA’s official channels. SASSA warns about misinformation about social grants.
How to make the early payment last until December
For older persons, the November grant arrives at the end of October. SASSA has not yet announced the December dates. If the December payment comes in the first days of December as usual, this payment has to last about five weeks instead of four.
- Write down the bills that are due before December, such as rent, electricity and burial society premiums.
- Set that money aside first, then plan groceries week by week.
- Keep a small amount for emergencies, even R100 a week helps. Our guide on building an emergency fund explains how.
